AUSTRALIA’S STRATEGIC FOLLY

As Australia prepares for war with China over Taiwan, one wonders what kind of strategy it envisages. It has gone from being self sufficient to being dependant on others for almost everything, including fuel. In fact, it is very dependent on China, including for a vital ingredient in diesel fuel. It imports its fuel and has only a few days’ reserve. If war does break out, and there is a high chance of this happening in the foreseeable future, does it really think that China will supply it with strategic resources such as fuel additives to fight against it? Unless Australia rebuilds its self-sufficiency, it will find itself in future history books of military blunders.
