Why Israel is needed.

Another week, another outrage. The Irish Senate passed a bill that will criminalise people, companies and other organisations who deal with Jews and Jewish enterprises in disputed areas but allows dealing with Arabs in those areas. Although of doubtful legality under EU laws, Ireland nevertheless is going down the route of boycotting Jews. On Friday the Irish Ambassador to Israel was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a dressing down about her country’s hypocrisy and antisemitism.

As the world is setting the stage for another Holocaust, there has never been better proof that the tiny state of Israel is essential. Unlike in the 1930s and 1940s, when the world turned its back on Jews and did nothing to stop the slaughter of six million innocent lives, Jews today have somewhere to escape to. Is that why the world is so against this thriving multicultural democracy?
