Malaysia is soon to host the World Para Swimming Championships, a qualifying event for the 2020 Paralympics which will be held in Tokyo. In the last few days Malaysia has re-affirmed that Jewish swimmers will not be allowed to compete. The International Paralympic Committee has so far only expressed “disappointment”. The Israeli Paralympic Committee has called for the International Paralympic Committee to move the event to another country.

Such official government bigotry should have no place in sports, which are supposed to unite people. If the event is not moved to another country, any other country sending athletes to the games will be supporting antisemitism, as will their swimmers.

As PD has stated before, this is 1930s Germany replayed on the world stage. Much of the Western media has been strangely silent about this.
