The Righteous Among The Nations
Regrettably 2018 saw the continued rise of antisemitism. There were the single persons, such as the young doctor at Cleveland Clinic, now fired, who stated her aim as a doctor was to deliberately give the wrong drugs to Jews. There were the groups, such as the campaign by “anti-racism” groups to boycott a cafe in San Francisco run by a gay Jew. Then there were the large corporations, with financial giant HSBC joining Airbnb in boycotting Jews on “human rights principles” (you could not make this stuff up). The world more and more looks like 1930s Germany.
Nevertheless, we must remember that among those who stood by silently and let it happen there was a small minority which mustered the courage to uphold human values and rescued Jews. They are the Righteous Among The Nations and are honoured at Yad Vashem.
Do not be indifferent. Stand up to hatred in any form.
